If you did not live in Barcelona, where would you like to live?
Conceptual, geometric, colorful and abstract. These are the designs and illustrations of Pablo Benito.
The creative freedom he has in most of his projects leads him to create a very recognizable visual imaginary, thus defining his own brand.
He likes color, striking and contrasted, and plays changing it in elements that have a very established one.
Pablo talks about his work as a kid would do, with simplicity and spontaneity. As if to illustrate was something fun, enjoying, improvising.
I would like to live in a city like Berlin or Amsterdam. Although I like Barcelona, I would move to the outskirts of the city.
A word that defines it?
What is the best and the worst that it has?
The best is the diversity you find in it and the possibilities that it gives you, the worst thing is that sometimes you can feel a stranger in your own city.
Getting out of the house, walking down Paseo San Juan to the studio and finishing at Bogatell beach is my best day to day.
What would your ideal Barcelona tour be like?
I do not have a special tour, although the neighborhood of Sarriá takes me to my childhood. In the center, I feel love-hate …. On one hand I find some of my favorite shops and on the other hand streets that I do not want to step on. In Poblenou I get the calm I need many times. Although leaving home, walking down Paseo San Juan to the studio and finishing at Bogatell beach is my best day to day.
And your perfect day?
Any day in fall, a meeting with friends, with good food, good drinks and of course good music.
We want to thank Pablo Benito the time that he has dedicated for this interview. You can know more about him and his work by visiting pebestudio.es.
